ALBUM REVIEW: Katatonia - Night Is The New Day

"Night is the new day" indeed, as Katatonia takes the Doom/Alternative genre
and molds it into a very promissing full-length studio album.

Personally, I liked it allot, since it sounds heavier and, should I say, more "epic" than their previous work. Every track in this album has a unique sound, a different piece to the insightfull puzzle that is "Night is the new day".

Although the instrumentals can sometimes seem a little simple, it all comes together in a great way, with incredible melodic vocals, good lyrics and chorus by Jonas Renkse, and a perfect fusion of the guitars, bass and drums,in a very progressive way, making every music non-repetitive within itself. I should point out the good guitar work that fuses melodic and more agressive elements, with some very good riffs and solos along the way.

Overall, a very good album, and definitely a must for all metal fans.
